Glencoe Fitness is now open at the Takiff Center! In addition to group fitness classes, Glencoe Fitness has 13 pieces of Precor cardio equipment and 6 strength machines. Free weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls are also available for self-guided fitness enthusiasts.    

Our inviting, unintimidating, and pristine fitness area will meet all your training needs in a compact environment. You can even track your progress with our state-of-the-art Preva cloud-based fitness app.

Personal training and group fitness classes are available for an additional fee.

  • Monday - Friday: 5:30am - 9:00pm
  • Saturday - Sunday: 7:00am - 5:00pm



Membership Options

The $125 initiation fee will be waived if you join before May 31, 2018!

Additional Family Member

Students age 14-22 and seniors age 65+ qualify for a discounted rate with proper ID.

Glencoe Park District offers a variety of fitness classes each season - from favorites like yoga and pilates to the latest in fitness trends like dance and barre classes. Glencoe Fitness members get a 20% discount on all group classes. Start your fitness routine today or add in a new class or two to spice up your regular workout!

To participate in Glencoe Park District fitness classes, patrons may purchase a Fitness Punch Card or pay on a drop-in basis. All Fitness Punch Cards must be purchased before your first class, either in person, online, by mail or fax. Fitness punch cards may not be used to access gym equipment in the fitness area.

Fitness Classes

  • Moving with Weights: This low-impact progressive cardio and weights program strengthens, improves muscle tone and increases bone density. Using various weights, plus simple step moves, this workout increases upper and lower body strength and burns calories. 
  • Row & Go Bootcamp: This high energy circuit training class uses rowing machines and a unique format for a full-body workout. First time rowing? No worries, we will teach you proper form.
  • Row & Go Interval Training: Instructors will combine rowing intervals with dynamics sculpting exercises for the perfect balance of cardio and strength training. This heart-pumping sweat-drenched, total body burn is as fun as it is effective. New to rowing? Don't sweat it - we'll teach you everything you need to know.
  • Rowga Bootcamp: This unique class starts with intense rowing intervals and ends with relaxing yoga! Short on time? Just come for the first or second half. For those with more time and an adventurous spirit, stay for both sessions. No experience in either discipline necessary.
  • WERQ Cardio Dance: WERQ is the wildly addictive cardio dance class based on the hottest pop and hip-hop music. The workout is nonstop with repetitive athletic moves and fresh dance steps, so you get the best sweat.
  • Jazz Dance: Enjoy great music and dance combinations in this choreographed class. Recommended for dancers with experience in modern, jazz or ballet. Abs and core work are included.

Glencoe Beach Fitness Classes

  • Paddleboard Yoga: SUP (stand up paddle) + Yoga is a fun way to challenge your practice and paddle skills. Each session will involve active paddling and both strengthening and restorative yoga postures on the board. Work on your balance and core strength as you float on Lake Michigan at beautiful Glencoe Beach. No prior paddling or yoga experience is required. Basic paddling techniques will be covered and options for yoga postures will be provided. We start with a short yoga sequence on land to practice in the water. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins allowed based on availability - $40 drop-in fee. Life jackets are provided. Instructor - Stephanie Metz
  • Paddleboard Core: Paddle boarding requires good core strength to stay balanced and paddle with efficiency. Your core translates strength to the rest of your body- key to your overall fitness! In SUP core skills - focus on the fundamentals of stand up paddle boarding with both land and water instruction including water safety, basic technique. Practice paddle skills as we enjoy excursions on the board both north and south of Glencoe Beach. Expect core work pre/post excursions. Limited space - sign up early! This class is for ages 18+ and is subject to cancellation based on weather and wave conditions. Drop-ins allowed based on availability - $40 drop-in fee. Life jackets are provided. Yoga Classes

  • Yoga BasicsWhether you’re new to yoga or want to “get back to basics,” this 75-minute yoga class will focus on the fundamentals of yoga and its many benefits. You'll learn breathing techniques, safety, alignment, and the components that comprise a yoga practice — centering, warm up, foundational poses, balance, core, twists and final resting poses. This exciting new class at Takiff promotes centering, strength, balance, and flexibility. Join us for a perfect mid-week morning practice!
  • Beginner Series Yoga with Reach Yoga: The Yoga Beginner Series is geared to those who have never (or barely) tried yoga. For four weeks, you and a group of other new students will learn basic poses and sequences, along with information about the benefits of yoga for you.
