Central Park Task Force

The Glencoe Park District is forming a short-term Task Force to gather input on Central Park and field improvements. The Board is now soliciting applicants to join the Task Force, which will meet in the evenings for 1-2 hours and will kick-off with a meeting on May 11. The task force may meet three to four times this summer, with the goal of finishing by the first week of July.  Input from the Task Force is not binding; under the Park District Code, all final decisions reside with the elected Park Board of Commissioners.  

To apply to the Task Form, complete the application and return it by May 4.  Once applications are returned, the Park District Board of Commissioners will appoint members to serve on the Task Force. The Park District is limiting the amount of members who serve on the task force and will be comprised of the following segments of the community:

  • Glencoe Park District Staff
  • Representatives from the Village of Glencoe Park District
  • Representatives from School District 35
  • 2 immediate neighbors to Central Park
  • 2 representatives from Glencoe Youth Baseball
  • 1 Donor or his designee
  • 2 Community Members at Large
  • 2 Glencoe Park District Board Members

In addition to the Task Force, there will also be opportunities for the general public to give input on the plans as the Park District moves through the design process. Public input sessions will be posted on the Park District website and via email blasts; if you would like to be added to the Park District contact list, please send us an email
