We’re pleased to open the Watts ice rinks on Friday, November 27. Before the season starts, we’d like to share with you the extra safety stipulations that will take place once the rink opens. Our goal is to create a safe and fun environment that follows the Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our capacity at the rinks is limited. Therefore, access to the rinks will require the online purchase of a season pass. Season passes will go on sale at 9 AM on Friday, October 23 for Glencoe residents (passes for non-residents go on sale October 30).

The Glencoe Park District has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Great Mud Run, planned for Saturday, September 12. After evaluating the feasibility of large gatherings this fall, it was determined that the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, staff, partners, and spectators could not be guaranteed.

While we are unbelievably disappointed to cancel this much-loved Glencoe tradition, we hope you will mark your calendars for the 2021 Mud Run!

On August 18, construction of the new Duke Park began. Located at the corner of Lincoln and Crescent Drive, the new playground will feature an interactive water feature, a hand-crank train, and a 2-12 year old play area with a poured-in place safety surface. Duke Playground is part of the Connect Glencoe project, a half-mile walking path that will link five parks between Maple Hill and Park Avenue. Along the path, new social spaces, drinking fountains, picnic tables, and new landscaping will be added. In addition to the new playground at Duke Park, the project also includes improvements to the Maple Hill pedestrian crossing and a revitalized Veteran’s Park plaza.

Connect Glencoe is primarily funded through grants and private donations.
