The Great Mud Run

Complete all 12 obstacles on our muddy course to win! The Great Mud Run is a 1.25 mile (2k) race through Watts Park, with natural and man-made obstacles throughout the course, challenging your drive and physical stamina. Participants will receive a finisher medal and bragging rights. This Glencoe favorite is open to kids ages 7-14. Races start at 9 AM on Saturday, October 2. Advance registration is required
  • Early Bird (8/5-9/1): $30/35 R/NR
  • Regular Rate (9/2-9/30): $40/45 R/NR
  • Race Day (10/1-10/2): $50/55 R/NR


  • PACKET PICKUP
    Get ready for the race early! Packets will be available before the race w/ your bib and t-shirt. Gear check is not available

  • START TIMES & LOCATION
    All races start and finish near Watts Ice Center, 305 Randolph Street. Races start just south of South School near the playground. Racers will gather in the basketball courts with their age groups prior to the start of their heat.
    • 9:00 AM Boys 12-14
    • 9:15 AM Girls 12-14
    • 9:30 AM Boys 9-11
    • 9:45 AM Girls 9-11
    • 10:00 AM Boys 7-8
    • 10:15 AM Girls 7-8
  • TIMING
    The Great Mud Run is a chip-timed event. Please wear your race bib at all times during the race on the front of your shirt.

  • RACE RESULTS
    Race results will be posted inside the Watts Center as soon as they are available. They will also be posted on our website glencoeparkdistrict.com after all the races are finished.

  • AGE DIVISIONS & AWARDS
    Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place (male & female) in each age division (7-8, 9-11, 12-14). Award Ceremonies will be held outside in Watts Park when they become available. Awards that are not picked up at the ceremonies can be picked up at the Takiff Center.

  • PARKING/TRANSPORTATION
    Parking will be restricted along the course on Randolph and Vernon. On-street parking is available nearby, please follow posted parking restrictions.

  • HEALTH SCREENER
    You will be required to fill out a health screener before the race.  

  • RESTROOMS
    Restrooms are located inside Watts or near the tennis court
  • FOOD & DRINKS Food trucks from Donut Jester and Nothing Bundt Cakes will be onsite for spectators to purchase food/drinks.
