Sailboat Rentals
Glencoe Park District has four Barnett 1400 Sailboats available for hourly rentals. Youth ages 6-15 must be accompanied by an adult on the boat during rentals. No children under age 5 are allowed on rental crafts.
Check-out Tests: Sailboat renters must pass a checkout test prior to their first rental of the season. They receive a sailing condition rating, which is stored on file for future rental reference. Checkout tests are by appointment only.
A credit card deposit and a photo I.D. is required prior to rental and may be applied to the rental fee upon return to beach. For availability please call (847) 835-1185.
Weekdays: $25/hour (Hobie: $35/hour)
Weekends: $40/hour (Hobie: $50/hour)
Skipper Rentals
If it’s your first time on a sailboat, head out on Lake Michigan with our trained sailing staff! Learn some basic sailing skills and useful land/lake information. Then just sit back and enjoy the wonders of the sailing experience.
Saturday & Sunday only: $75/hr
Kayak Rentals
We have six kayaks ready and waiting for you! One- and two-person kayaks are available to rent on an hourly basis. Renters are required to pass a proficiency test prior to their first rental of the season, and life jackets must be worn at all times. Youth ages 6-15 must be accompanied by an adult while using the kayak. No children under age 5 are allowed on rental crafts. NOTE: No kayak rentals on July 7, 21; August 4, 11. Weekdays: $20/hour
Weekends: $25/hour or $40 for a maximum of three hours
Kayak Excursions
Join us for an afternoon kayak paddle along the beautiful shorelines of Glencoe, Winnetka, and Highland Park! Each two-hour excursion is led by Park District staff. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets are provided. Limited space per session; sign up early. Youth ages 6-15 must be accompanied by an adult in a double kayak. No children under age 5 are allowed on rental crafts.
Saturdays, July 21 and August 4 • 3-5 p.m.
Fee: $60/2 people in a double kayak (max. 3 double kayaks)
$40/1 person (max. 5 single kayaks)
$20/personal kayak (max. 5 personal kayaks)
NOTE: If wave height exceeds one foot, the session will be cancelled. An additional warning of risk/waiver and release form must be signed.
