Watts Center, 305 Randolph

Located in Watts Park on more than three acres, Watts Center has two
lighted outdoor ice rinks, three tennis courts, and soccer fields.  In the
winter months, the sledding hill at Watts has also been a longtime favorite
of Glencoe residents of all ages.

Watts Center, Glencoe Park District’s outdoor refrigerated skating facility operates, weather permitting, the day after Thanksgiving through the first Sunday in March. Watts Center is the home of figure skating lessons, ice hockey, and recreational skating. Facilities include a regulation hockey rink,a studio rink, a mini-pro shop, a renovated concession stand, a recreation room and a program room. The recreation room, program room and ice rinks are all available for private party rentals.  The 2009/2010 Winter season features new leagues, events, rental opportunities, and experienced skating staff.  For more information, please call Watts Center at (847) 835-4440.

Season Tokens:
Season skate tokens may be purchased in person at the
Park District Registration office, which is located at the
Takiff Center, 999 Green Bay Rd. Included with your
purchase of season tokens is five free guest passes or
five free skate rentals!

Tokens may also be purchased by mail after completing
the enclosed three-part short Token Form located in the
Winter Program Guide. Upon receipt of payment, via mail,
your token purchase will be mailed to your home address.
Also, starting November 27, 2009, tokens may be purchased
at Watts Center by check or cash.

Friday: Youth Open Shoot (18 and under), 3:00-5:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Weekend General Open Skate, 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Hockey
Designed for players of all skill levels. Practice
and pick-up games will be the main focus of this skate.

❯ For Adults Ages 18 and older, strictly enforced
❯ Located at Watts Center Main Rink
❯ Sundays Nov. 29 to Feb. 28 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
❯ $10.00 walk – In fee. Goalies skate FREE!
❯ 24 skaters are limited per session. This limit will be
strictly enforced.
❯ Equipment recommended: Full gear and helmet with
mask.


Hockey Just For Moms!
Moms can take a “time-out” just for themselves on
Monday evenings and enjoy a fun, instructional class as
well as a game of hockey with other moms!

Who: Adult women, 18 and older
Where: Watts Center Main Rink
What to Bring: Full gear recommended

Adult Skating Class
This class is for all levels. Hot beverages will be available
in the indoor warming house. Friends are welcome to join in during the second week of class, December 8 and 10.

Balance, starting, stopping, stroking, gliding, safety and general information of advanced technique are all covered in this class. Raphael Kelling will walk you though the process from start to finish including helping you with any necessary equipment consultation.

This class is designed to support and encourage all levels
of skating in a social environment, but may include advanced information. Anyone who signs up for the Adult Skating classes can purchase a practice card that is good for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday ice time from11:00-1:00 p.m.
