Melvin Berlin Park opened April 28, 2017. The park was made possible by the generosity of a longtime Glencoe resident, Andrew T. Berlin, in honor of his father, Melvin R. Berlin.
Glencoe Park District has partnered with School District 35 to replace the playground at West School. The playground and discovery garden opened in September, 2017.
Project plans and updates to improve parking and add a fitness area at the Takiff Center. Phase One of the parking project was completed in December, 2017. The new workout facility, Glencoe Fitness, opens on December 30, 2017.
Astor Park, located at 640 Sunset Lane, will got a new 2-12-year-old playground structure with slides and play panels. The updated playground opened in October, 2017.

The Board of Commissioners is planning a new playground at the corner of Vernon and Jefferson avenues in 2018.
At Old Elm Park, residents requested a playground that matches the “midcentury Modern” aesthetic of the neighborhood. The finalized plans include a circular path for walking and biking, a sandbox, swings, and picnic area.
At Woodlawn Park, movement and sound will be emphasized with a carefully curated collection of play structures. A giant swing bank will include 8 swings for kids to enjoy, while an extra-long pair of zip lines will be a great place to race.
