Sale of Refunding Bonds Results in Taxpayer Savings

On March 30, the Glencoe Park District will refund bonds to save taxpayers over $725,000 and reduce payments over the next ten years following the successful refinancing of outstanding bonds. The Park District’s Refunding Bonds were sold at average interest rate of 2.386%, replacing bonds that carried a rate of 4.754%.

As a result, taxpayers will pay a lower amount going forward because the amount needed to pay the loan has been reduced by a lower interest rate.
