Do you sing? Dance? Have a special talent? You're invited to perform in the Park District's annual talent show, Glencoe's Got Talent! Apply by Thursday, June 29 for the Indepedence Day show, which will start at 12 pm on Monday, July 4 at Wyman Green. Glencoe's Got Talent is limited to fifteen acts, so apply today! New Beach & Ice Rink Facility Manager Named

The Glencoe Park District is pleased to welcome Bobby Collins to the district as the new Beach and Ice Rink Facility Manager. As a competitive sailor and coach, Bobby brings a great deal of experience to Glencoe Beach. He will be teaching select sailing classes this summer, in addition to managing operations at the Glencoe's swimming and boating beaches.

Melvin Berlin Park Groundbreaking

The Glencoe Park District invites you to join us at Melvin Berlin Park for the Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday, June 6 at 6:45 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the new Berlin Park, located at the corner of Park and Greenwood avenues in Glencoe. 

Construction of Berlin Park will start June 4, 2016.

Glencoe Residents Receive Tennis Camp Resident Rates from Park District of Highland Park

Through a new partnership with the Park District of Highland Park, Glencoe residents will now receive resident rates on tennis camps. Each camp is staffed by tennis professionals and college-age counselors. While working on the different skills and fundamentals, coaches will emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship and learning from mistakes to reach one’s personal potential. Camp sessions vary from one to seven weeks in length. Berlin, Shelton & Kalk Park Updates

The Board of Commissioners approved the designs for Shelton Park and Kalk Park for bidding purposes at their March 15 meeting. The Board also formally approved a construction bid from Clauss Brothers, the lowest responsible bidder, for Berlin Park.

Spring & Summer Registration Starts March 9

The Glencoe Park District's seasonal program guide is now in mailboxes! Open your copy for details on sports, special events, enrichments, beach passes, fitness programs, camps, and more! Read it now

Online registration for spring programs and camp starts at 7 am on Wednesday, March 9. 

Online registration is the BEST way to ensure your registration. Registration will also be accepted in-person when the Takiff Center opens at 8 am in the Main Lobby on Wednesday, March 9. A number will be assigned to anyone who wishes to register in-person and registration will be entered in that order.

Registration forms that are dropped-off, mailed, or faxed to the Takiff Center will be processed as time permits, and  in the order they are received.

In order to access the online registration system, we suggest you set up a household account immediately and confirm your username/password is correct. That way, on March 9, you can log in, click on the programs you want, and confirm your registration immediately.

Infant Care Coming to Children's Circle Full Day Preschool

Children’s Circle Full Day Preschool is expanding! Beginning September 1, Children's Circle will welcome infants 6 weeks through 15 months to the program. Children's Circle combines full-day flexibility and high-quality teaching to create preschool programs geared to the diverse needs of busy families. A day at Children’s Circle reflects our philosophy that children learn best through meaningful interactions with the world around them in a secure environment. Learning is an active process, whether it happens during a teacher-guided group experience or during free choice play. Children’s Circle Full Day Preschool opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m., with enrollment options that range from two to five days per week for infants through kindergarten students. Because Children’s Circle offers classes 50 weeks a year, you may register at any time.

Consider This A Kindness Challenge!

In conjunction with Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14-20, 2016), Glencoe Park District is joining Family Service of Glencoe (FSG) #SevenActsInSevenDays promotion to spread the kindness buzz around our village. Think of simple ways to reach out to those in our homes, jobs, and communities...and start performing random of acts of kindness!. The fun comes as we catch others being kind and honor them with a blue heart sticker!

Shelton Park Conceptual Designs Now Available
The Board of Commissioners approved installing a new playground at Shelton Park this summer.  The Board of Commissioners is currently reviewing plans for a new, nature-based playground to replace the wood playground structures at Shelton Park, which will occupy the same location as the existing structures. Conceptual designs are now available to view below. The community is invited to share design input at a public meeting which will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 at the Takiff Center (999 Green Bay Road, Glencoe).
