Glencoe resident Chris Sullivan loves playing lacrosse, but noticed Glencoe lacked a proper lacrosse practice field. The game, considered one of the fastest growing youth sports, has grown in popularity on the North Shore in recent years.
Noticing the trend, Chris asked the Park District if it was possible to install a set of goals in one of District’s unused park parcels. To his surprise, the Park District was able to respond quickly and install the nets within a month of his request.
The new nets are now available for use at Park 3N, which is located along Old Green Bay Road between Dennis Lane and Lincoln Drive.
The Park District is always open to resident suggestions for additional amenities. Other resident requests, like improving puddling on the Shelton Park pathway and increasing parking at the Takiff Center, are planned for the 2018-19 fiscal year. Residents are always welcome to share their thoughts on special projects at Glencoe Park District Board of Commissioner meetings. The board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Takiff Center.
